May 17th, 2026 – Opening Reception for This Life: Reflections in Sculpture

Selected Works by Judith Peck, Simon Rigg, & Howard Springer

Join the Saddle River Arts Council and Paul Larsen Gallery in celebrating the opening of This Life: Reflections in Sculpture at the historic Bishop House. The exhibition will feature the work of local artists Judith Peck, Simon Rigg, and Howard Springer and be curated by Saddle River native Michael Harper.

October 1st, 2023 – An Evening Celebrating Indian Culture, Art, and Music  in collaboration with the Indo

-in collaboration with the Indo-American Arts council, New York City

The Saddle River Arts Council welcomed over 200 guests to an evening celebrating the richness and diversity of Indian culture, held at the Saddle River Day School Performing Arts Center. The event was co-chaired by Anshu Kapur and Maria Harper.

The program featured traditional and contemporary Indian dance, music, and visual art, including Kathak, Ghoomar, and Bollywood performances. A highlight of the evening was a performance by the Sonalee Vyas Dance Company, an award-winning Bollywood dance company that has performed for the White House, Global Citizen, Amazon, and Google.

Visual art was presented by Shantala Kaikini, whose mixed media work reflects India’s cultural heritage.

Art historian Hugo Weihe delivered an engaging talk on the global significance of Indian art. Dr. Weihe is an international art advisor based in New York and London and former CEO of Saffronart and Senior Vice President and International Director of Asian Art at Christie’s.

Members of the Indo-American Arts Council also shared insights into Indian cultural music, and film programming in New York City.

December 6th, 2019 – Holiday Concert

On December 6, 2019, a holiday concert and cocktail reception was held at a beautiful Saddle River residence, featuring exceptionally gifted young musicians from the metropolitan area performing a program of classical and holiday music. Proceeds from the event supported the creation of scholarships for young musicians.

October 17th, 2019 – Making of a Bronze – Studio Tour with Sculptor Caroline D. Palmer

The event featured a studio tour and presentation by world-renowned sculptor, Carolyn D. Palmer, a Saddle River resident. Ms. Palmer works in the ancient lost wax process, a technique dating back thousands of years.

She shared insight into her creative process for producing her bronze sculptures, including her well-known 800-pound Lucille Ball. Ms. Palmer was selected by unanimous vote from a national competition of 68 sculptors to create this new interpretation of the iconic figure.

Proceeds from the event benefitted the Dreaming Zebra Foundation, which provides underprivileged children with art and music supplies.

September 7th, 2019 – Saddle River Day

March 30th, 2019 – An Evening of Giving Back – Concert with Eric Genuis – Saddle River Arts Council Inaugural Event

More than 200 people attended the concert at a Saddle River private residence, which featured world-renowned pianist and composer, Eric Genuis.  He performed all original compositions with a distinguished ensemble including a violinist, cellist, and vocalist.

Through the support of the Arts Council, Mr. Genuis also played at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, which was the first concert held at that prison in over 30 years. 

Proceeds also benefitted Concerts For Hope and the Paterson School District Music Program.
